En un pueblo envuelto en una oleada de violencia inexplicable, un detective guiado por su culpa y el recuerdo de un amigo muerto investiga una extraña droga que parece alterar la voluntad humana. Absurdos y oscuros poderes intentarán detenerlo.

Synopsis / Sinopsis:

In a town swept by a wave of inexplicable crimes, Detective Felipe Cárdenas investigates the cold-blooded murder of his best friend. Guided by the ghost of that very friend, the clues lead him to discover that the leader of a local cult has created a mysterious drug known as Eternia, which allows him to control the minds of those who take it. This leads to a disturbing revelation: Felipe himself was once addicted to Eternia, and he may be the one who committed the very crime he’s investigating.

En un pueblo asediado por una ola de crímenes inexplicables, el detective Felipe Cárdenas investiga la muerte a sangre fría de su mejor amigo. Guiado por el fantasma de su amigo muerto, las pistas lo llevan a descubrir que el líder de una secta local ha creado una misteriosa droga conocida como Eternia, con la que controla la mente de quienes la consumen. De ese modo, llega también a una revelación inquietante: él mismo fue adicto a Eternia y quizás sea el autor del crimen que investiga.

Ezequiel Rormoser is the founder of Superestudio.tv and Lamole. Driven by innovative ideas and great design, he developed his career in motion graphics and film with his own independent projects, creating and directing award winning short films.

Ezequiel Rormoser es el fundador de Superestudio y Lamole. Impulsado por ideas innovadoras y diseño de vanguardia, desarrolló su carrera en motion graphics y cine a través de proyectos independientes, creando y dirigiendo cortometrajes galardonados.

Matias Lix Klett, born in Argentina and based in Berlin, is a director and visual artist. With a strong background in cinematography, he has developed a unique voice blending bold concepts and refined aesthetics. His work includes film, photography, and interdisciplinary projects.

Director’s Statement / Declaraciones del Director:

Our film presents a traumatic story, a murder, that gradually unfolds through elements of thriller and dark humor. This tone, this way of storytelling, captivated us. We see it as an original way to tell this story, and it truly represents us. It’s an evolution of the work we’ve been developing with Lamole for some time now: a mix between Lynch and Álex de la Iglesia. Two very different worlds merging into one narrative. The perfect dose to portray conflict, trauma, and mystery through the lens of the absurd. The idea is rooted in the struggle between personal redemption and collective corruption in a decaying environment. Everything revolves around a drug designed by a sinister figure. It is consumed by ordinary citizens who end up being mentally controlled. There’s a bit of conspiracy theory in it, but also a reflection of reality, touching on the blurry line between the real and the imaginary. Unresolved grief and loss. A confrontation with evil. The creative and writing process was highly collaborative. We brought together different perspectives around a roundtable. Each person contributed to the vision we had, and little by little, we found this tone, shaping a broader story where each character added key elements. From that work, this short film was born, a crucial moment in the life of our main character. But it’s not the end of the story; there’s much more to come. We aim to talk about serious topics while injecting a spark of humor to help navigate them.

Nuestra película expone una historia traumática, un asesinato, que se va revelando lentamente a través del thriller y el humor negro. Este tono, esta forma de narrar nos cautivó, nos parece una manera original de contar esta historia y nos representa. Es una evolución del trabajo que venimos haciendo con Lamole desde hace tiempo, una mezcla de Lynch con Alex de la Iglesia. Dos mundos distintos que se funden en una misma historia. Esa dosis perfecta para retratar el conflicto, el trauma y el misterio con el absurdo. La idea está arraigada en la lucha entre la redención personal y la corrupción colectiva en un entorno decadente. Todo gira alrededor de una droga que fue diseñada por un siniestro personaje; esta droga es consumida por ciudadanos comunes, los cuales son controlados mentalmente. Tiene un poco de teoría conspirativa, pero también de realidad. Tocando la relación entre lo real y lo imaginario. La pérdida y el duelo no resuelto. El enfrentamiento con el mal. El proceso creativo y de escritura fue colaborativo. Fuimos convocando distintas miradas a una mesa redonda. Cada uno de ellos aportó a la visión que teníamos y poco a poco fuimos encontrando este tono, dándole forma a una historia más grande, donde cada personaje brindaba elementos clave para la historia. De ahí nace este corto, un momento crucial de nuestro personaje principal. Pero no es el final de la historia, hay mucho más por delante. La idea es poder hablar sobre temas serios, pero darle la chispa del humor para atravesarlo.
