Synopsis / Sinopsis:

Eighteen-year-old Eduardo travels from a small Mexican town to the city of Guadalajara to take a university admission exam. In this strange, big city, far away from his mother’s surveillance, he experiences his first encounters and missteps in love and sex.

Eduardo (18) viaja a la ciudad de Guadalajara para hacer su examen de admisión a la universidad. En esta ciudad grande y desconocida, lejos de la vigilancia de su madre, experimenta sus primeros tropiezos en el amor y el sexo.

RAFAEL RUIZ ESPEJO

Beneficiary of FONCA 2012-2013 and 2019-2020. Winner of support for short film production of IMCINE 2017, and the promotion of Mexican Cinema FOCINE 2022 and 2023 for his debut feature. Winner of the feature film production fund: Filma Jalisco 2022. Winner for the distribution fund Eficine 2024. Nominated for best fiction short film at the 2022 Ariel Awards.

Director’s Statement / Declaraciones del Director:

I’m not interested in educating anyone. What I want is to tell stories about sexual and gender diversity, without self-censorship and without trying to make them friendly to heteronormative audiences. I want to make a film that makes the LGBTIQ+ community feel represented on screen, in its brilliant moments and its contradictions.

No me interesa educar a nadie. Lo que quiero es contar historias sobre la diversidad sexual y de género, sin autocensura y sin tratar de hacerlas amables a públicos heteronormativos. Quiero hacer una película que haga que la comunidad LGBTIQ+ se sienta representada en la pantalla, en sus momentos brillantes y sus contradicciones.
